Candidates to discuss tobacco, health issues
MONROE - Rep. Brett Davis and Democratic Assembly District 80 candidates Kris Wisnefske and John Waelti will discuss their positions on funding for tobacco prevention programs, health care and dental care coverage for those not covered in Green County as well as other health related topics at a forum Saturday July 19, at the Green County Fairgrounds in the WEKZ tent. The forum will run from 5 to 6 p.m.

The forum is being sponsored by the Green County Health Department. After a brief discussion on the relevance of these issues in the county, candidates will be asked questions in a moderated question-and-answer format.

"This forum will give citizens the opportunity to learn more about some of the most important health care topics facing us here in the county and get a chance to hear directly from the candidates prior to the primary election in September and the general election in November," said Jaime Batz, Public Health Nurse at the Green County Health Department. "We are interested in learning about what priorities the candidates have and what solutions they will offer for funding tobacco prevention programs, Medicaid and decreasing the gap many Green County residents experience when unable to access health and dental care in our county."
